Why EPS

Strong, mobile, pain free. For life.

EPS is a community of Westerly locals, from their 20s to their 50s, who train a smarter way. Not a bootcamp, not a place you cram before summer. A different kind of training that keeps you feeling good and doing everything you love, for decades.

Sound familiar

Your body started sending the bill.

The hip that stiffens after a long meeting. The knee that talks back on the stairs. Waking up sore from doing nothing in particular. The workouts that used to leave you feeling good now just leave you hurting. It is not age catching up with you. It is years of moving without ever training how you move.

Why we're different

Built for the long run.

EPS is not a typical gym. No bootcamp, no bodybuilding meat market, no place you cram at before summer. It is training for people who want to feel good, move well, and stay capable for the long run. Get strong, stay out of pain, and keep doing the things you love, whether you are 25 or 55, a former athlete or starting over from scratch.

No ego and no comparison. Every session scales to exactly where you are today, so you build a body that still works decades from now. If you are chasing one number on the bar, there are faster gyms for that. If you want to still be strong, mobile, and pain free at 60, you are in the right place.

What a class looks like

Every class is coached. Never a free-for-all.

You will never walk in wondering what to do or whether you are doing it right. A coach runs the room, knows your body, and scales every movement to exactly where you are.

Prime the body with Kinstretch

Every class opens with Kinstretch, the science-based joint-prep system from Functional Range Systems. Not a token warmup. Real preparation that makes everything after it stronger and safer.

Build strength that lasts

Then methodical, periodized programming that moves you forward, led by a coach who knows exactly where you are. Your mobility, control, and strength climb together, session after session.

Learn why, so you can do it anywhere

It is not just a class, it is a classroom. We teach you how your body works and why we train the way we do, so you can handle aches and keep improving on the days you are not with us.

The people who train here

You'll fit right in.

Parents, teachers, business owners, former athletes, and complete beginners. Locals from their 20s to their 60s who train side by side and scale every movement to themselves. No meat market, no ego, just your people.

The difference maker

The reason it works when nothing else did.

Stretching, yoga, and foam rolling feel good for an hour and change nothing by tomorrow. Kinstretch trains your joints to actually own the range you have, so you move without pain and stay strong at the edges where injuries happen. It is the foundation under everything we do at EPS, and most members feel a real difference in how they move within a few weeks.

  • Move without the aches you had started to accept as permanent
  • Own the range you actually use, not just touch your toes once
  • Build strength where injuries start, at the edges of your range

Move better, not older

Stiffness is not just age. Watch Rachel work an upper back most people have written off.

Inside a session

Real coaching on the details that matter, down to how you breathe. You are never left to figure it out alone.

Your first six weeks

What changes, week by week.

A typical first six weeks at EPS. Keep scrolling to see how it builds.

Week 11

Learn the system

Your first classes. Coaches walk you through Kinstretch and your movement, and every exercise comes with progressions and modifications so you start at exactly the right level.

Week 22

Build the rhythm

You settle into the Monday, Wednesday, Friday cadence. The joints you've been ignoring start to wake up, and you begin to understand the why behind every movement.

Week 33

Notice the difference

Everyday movement starts to feel easier. Less morning stiffness, more range, and the warm-up that felt hard in week one is now second nature.

Week 44

Add real strength

The periodized strength work compounds. You're moving more load with control, not just more soreness, and the community already knows your name.

Week 55

Move with confidence

Better range of motion meets real strength. Old aches get quieter, you push harder, and training stops feeling like a chore and starts feeling like yours.

Week 66

Feel the change

Stronger, more mobile, more resilient. Training is a habit now, and you're set up to keep moving well for the long run, not just for six weeks.

Rachel Calabrese, Owner & Head Coach at EPS
“Fitness shouldn't be the most important part of your life. It should be the thing that lets you enjoy it.”

Rachel started as an athlete at EPS, then found Functional Range Conditioning and stopped asking how much she could lift and started asking how well she actually moved. She felt younger than she had in years. When the chance came to buy EPS, she kept the thing that had already changed her own health and built the whole gym around it: helping people move without pain, get strong, and keep doing what they love as they age.

A few months from now

This is what it feels like to train for longevity.

  • 01

You get up off the floor with your kids without thinking about it.

  • 02

You hike the whole trail and your knees stay quiet the next day.

  • 03

You lift without that little voice warning you something might tweak.

  • 04

You wake up loose instead of stiff, and it stops being the exception.

  • 05

You feel stronger and more capable at this age than you did ten years ago.

  • 06

Fitness gives back to your life instead of quietly taking it over.
